The Policía Nacional in Madrid have arrested the person who runs a kindergarten because of her treatment of the children under her charge.

According to the police, the woman in one case made a child eat its own vomit as a punishment.

The police started to look into how the kindergarten in Fuenlabrada was run in October after receiving a complaint from Fundación ANAR (Ayuda a Niños y Adolescentes en Riesgo) who in turn had received complaints from several parents.

The kindergarten, Escuela Infantil Genios en Pañales, which is situated in 24 Calle Claveles in Fuenlabrada, was run by a 51-year-old woman, looking after infants up to 3-years old.

She allegedly continually insulted them, shouted at them, mocked their crying and force-fed them and if this made them sick, she reportedly made them eat it. She also, claim parents, hit them on their arms and hands and locked them in the bathroom.

Thanks to police video images, she was arrested on the 29th of October. She has since denied everything and puts the complaints down to a worker who had been fired. She has been released pending trial.
