The festivities started Friday but will carry on through to tomorrow as the last day, and there’s everything from horseback processions to a DJ for those young enough to still rattle their bones without spending the following week hobbling around.

You like chocolate? Silly question of course, so don’t miss the churros con chocolate… which is free! Yes, we can see you scrabbling for the car keys at this very moment!

The very young Mayor, Adrián Gallegos, thought of just about everything, including a flamenco evening a BBQ grill…. again free, a magician, a monologue (not the type that your wife or husband lavishes on you but by a young lady entitled “When I’m older”, that’s tomorrow at 18.30h.

So, what about a splendid weekend at 1,476 feet up the Alpujarras in the village famous for its Jamón Serrano… talking of which, they are going to hold their Primera Feria del Jamón y Productos de Trevélez on the 20th & 21st of November… if you have recovered by then.

Now, if you do prefer to make a couple of days of it and combine the entertainment that the Mayor has for you, with doing a bit of exploring of the surroundings, then there is a large hotel up there, just outside the village, with even self-catering rooms.
