Lanes on the A-92 had to be closed to traffic after a lorry carrying a load of foodstuffs hit against the crash barrier and began to burn.
The accident occurred where the autovía passes through the municipality of Pulianas (Metropolitan Area of Granada) around 13.00h.
The Granada fire service and the Guardia Civil were soon on the scene, together with a road-maintenance crew and an ambulance.
Because of the impact against the crashbarrier, the lorry jack-knifed, blocking both lanes. The driver was able to get down from the lorry without help but was attended to by paramedics.
Whilst both lanes were cut the DGT set up detour instructions onto the A-308. A little later one lane could be reopened allowing traffic to pass by the obstruction, once the fire was out.
