Tomorrow, Friday the 16th during the whole of the morning, Avenida Mediterraneo between the tax-rank roundabout and the Postigo bakery one will be closed to traffic.
The reason being is that they are going to be prunning the palm trees along that stretch of the double-lane road.
The diversions or alternative routes are down Avenida Federico García Lorca (past the municipal market) or along Avenida de Perrone, when head back up from the beach area and then taking Avenida Nicaragua and then Calle Federico Mayor (The one that the buses used to take to reach the bus stop).
Editorial comment: we have now entered the second fortnight of July, which, together with the first fortnight of August, is the time of maximum tourist activity…. so why are they doing it now?
