ALM Castle Towers and WallWould you like to see what the Castillo de San Miguel in Almuñécar looked like during different periods in history? Well, so you will be able to.

The Área de Cultura is developing a virtual window into the past of the castle, as well as labelling historical artifacts using QR codes so that visitors can obtain all relevant information about them.

The budget, which included the cleaning up of the interior of the castle and the fish-salting, archeaological remains below in the park, was for 45,624 euros.

“The Castle is our most special monument and we want to treat it with special care,” explain Councillor García Gilabert, adding “All exterior surfaces around the walls ot the wall themselves] will be painted as well as the Pabellón Militar which had deteriorated with the weather.”

The virtual representations of how the castle appeared in ages gone by have been recreated by local artist, Toni Quirós following the advice of the Municipal Archaeoligist, Iván Ruíz.
