Christmas Day Clean Up

LHR Cerro Gord Clean UpA team of volunteers from the municipality of Almuñécar carried out a clean up in the Cantarriján-Cerro Gordo area of La Herradura.

The team targeted the entrace to Playa Cantarriján specifically, as part of a project entitled, Libera, Unidos Contra La Basuralea, which in itself is part of the larger project,  1m2 Por La Naturaleza.

Both these projects not only aim at removing litter and rubbish in general from these natural beauty spots, but also categorising and documenting all finds, explained the Coordinator, María José Quesada.

“The clean up was aimed at three different access area. In total, along a strip of 400 metres in length and six in breadth,” she said, adding that they had recovered 30 kilos of food packaging, eleven kilos of glass bottles and 25 kilos of other types of litter, including surgical masks.
