The Spanish Meteorlogical Agency has issued warnings for heavy, snowfall in the Alpujarra, Guadix, Baza and Huéscar starting Friday.
The Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (AEMET), also projected snowfall for the city of Granada, ,as well. The alert level is Yellow for the Capital deteriorating to Orange the further north-east you go; i.e., Huéscar which is situated on the Granada plateau (altiplano).
The rainfall forecast gives a 100% probability between 06.00h and 18.00 with snow falling around 1,100 metres, dropping to 700 metres as the weekend progresses.
As for La Alpujarra, specifically Lanjarón and Trevélez, 10cm of snow is expected.
