The Motril fire service was called out to rescue a driver from his crashed car on Sunday night in the Los Guajares area.
The 45-year-old driver had lost control of his small van on the GR-3294 near kilometre point 26 and left the road, as can be seen in the accompanying photo.
Fire personnel were needed to free the driver from the damaged vehicle. He was taken to Hospital Santa Ana in Motril were his condition was described as ‘reserved.’
Over the weekend, fire personnel also had to rescue the driver of a car that ended up in the Río Genil where it passes through the city of Granada.
This accident occurred around 21.35h in the evening. The 31-year-old driver was later found to have triple the permitted amount of alcohol in her blood.
