Motril Tightens Restrictions

MOT Mayor Luisa García ChamorroAccording to the latest figures, there have been 157 new cases in Motril in the last seven days, giving the town a contagion rate of 555 cases per 100,000,000

There are 25 people who have been hospitalised in Santa Ana, four of whom are in the Intensive Care Unit.

For this reason there will be more restrictions included amongst those already coming into force today, including no permitted visits at the three homes for the elderly in Motril.

  • Attendance at funerals is limited to 15 people in outside services and only 10 if they are held inside.
  • Bar and restaurants will be limited to 50% of their maximum capacity inside and on terraces. Customers will not be able to use the bar to consume drinks, etc.
  • Shops and other premises open to the public are restricted to 50% of their maximum capacity.
  • Weddings and other civil & religious ceremonies are limited to 30 people.
  • There will be no street markets.
  • Public parks including kiddy parks are also closed.
  • Practicing sports in facilities for this purpose is permitted but limited to 50% and in groups of no larger than six.
