The Junta de Andalucia has just announced its awaited decision concerning what anti-Covid measure it will be taking, which includes closing the regional borders.

The PM, Juanma Moreno, after meeting with the health-emergency committee, announced that the closure of the regional borders starts tomorrow night and will remain in place until the 9th of November (23.59h on the 8th).

“Nobody will be able to enter or leave Andalucía other than for a justified cause,” said Sr. Moreno, adding that the night curfew will remain as the Central Government recommended, from 23.00h until 06.00h, which means that restaurants and bars, etc, must close at 22.30h.

Furthermore, the restrictions in place on the city of Granada and its metropolitan area will extend to Sevilla and Jaén, as well as the Vega de Málaga. This means that a total of 448 municipalities will have their borders closed.

Social gatherings remain restricted to a maximum of six persons with the exception of those that live in the same household, as 57% of all hospital cases belong to the cities of Granada and Sevilla.

These measures have been taken now to prevent spreading contagion during the coming All-Saints, bank-holiday weekend.
