Salobreña Town Council passed a reduction in the IBI during yesterday’s Plenary Meeting, which was unanimously approved.
This means that the percentage levied will drop from 0.75% of the catastral value of a property down to 0.71% as of 2021.
“In this situation where the households of our residents undergo tremendous difficulties caused to our economy by Covid-19, the Town Hall intends to continue giving support along the lines of others measures approved,” explained Councillor, Belén Sánchez.
Furthermore, the time limit for applying for fiscal benefits has been removed as it had created unfair situations with people not having enough time to put in for it.
Lastly, now that there is document sharing between different administrations it won’t be necessary for applicants to have to bring forms issued elsewhere with them, as the Town Hall now has direct access to them.
