Around 16.40h on the 18th of October the Traffic Police command centre received a call concerning a road accident after a car left the road in Zamora.
The accident involved a 15-year-old lad who had taken a relative’s car for a joy ride, lost control of the vehicle, and ended up hitting an embankment on the N-122 within the municipality of Muelas del Pan (Zamora). The minor, who logically had no driving licence, is due to appear before a minor’s magistrate
Earlier in the year – the case has just come up now – a driver abandoned her car on an autovía after an accident without leaving any warning triangles.
The incident occurred in Asturias on the 25th of July at 05.30h on the A-66. The car hit the centre crash barriers and amazingly the driver just left it there and wandered off. The result was a little while after another car ploughed into it, injuring the driver.
Three hours later the Guardia Civil found the driver, 29-year-old R.M.G. in a wooded area next to the autovía two kilometres away. She had minor cuts and bruises to her face and legs and was in shock.
She was taken to hospital where she was given a check up and treated for her injuries. However, her blood test gave a positive reading for excessive alcohol in her system, as well as traces of drugs.
