The Mayor of Motril, Luisa García Chamorro, considers that the new police station will be finished before the date foreseen.

The Mayor, accompanied by a gaggle of councillors, visited the building site, where the new police station for the Policía Local is to be houses, which is on the Avenida Norman Bethune (the Al Campo-Port Road connection).

At the moment the project is four months into the building phase having completed about 20% of its construction.

The original completion time was set at 22 months, but with 18 months to go, the Councillor for Citizen Safety said that Motril would have a decent building during 2022, without specifying a month.

Editorial comment: As construction was started in May 2020 with a 22-month build duration, this means it that the date for completion was March 2022, so these vague observations made by the Mayor that it would be finished earlier than planned are precisely that: very vague.
