A Guardia Civil RIB fished out 25 drug packages from the sea 150 metres off Playa El Lance within the municipality of Rubite.

This police action followed a group of divers coming across the waterproofed packages around 19.00h on Sunday. The scuba divers quickly moved away from the area, not wishing to be seen near the packages.

However, once back on the beach, they immediately contacted the police – they were more worried about bumping into the ‘owners’ than the police.

The police zodiac arrived from Motril Port to take charge of the find, arriving just after eight in the evening but were occupied quite some time fishing them out and then searching the nearby sea and beach for any further packages.
