Weed in Car Boot

ALM Weed in Car Boot OnlThe Almuñécar Policía Local arrested a local man over an illegal plantation in a garage – he had been stopped with a car boot full of weed at a road check.

The arrested man, 43-year-old José Andrés P.J had 88 plants weighing approximately 15 kilos under cultivation in an area of the municipality known as Entrepinos up on Los Pinos. When detained he also had 3,000 euros in cash on him, according to the police spokesperson.

The intervention took place in the early hours of one day around the middle of July when a police patrol noticed a car pulling out of Calle Piñones, near Entrepinos (Los Pinos). They flagged the driver down and decided to search the vehicle, finding half a jungle in the boot.

The police officers then convinced him to voluntarily open his garage and let them have a look inside – they would have been back with a warrant if not. Inside they found a whole electrical layout, plant pots containing new plants and other items necessary for the cultivation of marihuana.

They then took the arrested man and the confiscated items to the local Guardia Civil post for processing, as the municipal police only do with Civil Law; not offences related to Criminal-Law.
