MOT Red Cross & Sea Rescue 05The maritime branch of the Guardia Civil recovered a headless corpse in a neoprene suit some eight nautical miles off Almuñécar yesterday.

The unidentified body was taken to Motril Port and a police investigation has now begun into who it is and how it happened.

The body was first seen by the crew of a French yacht, who contacted the Spanish authorities around 20.00h on Monday but it wasn’t until yesterday just after noon that the Guardia Civil launch located the body and retrieved it from the sea.
