Whilst ecologists have given ‘black flags’ to beaches in Salobreña and Albuñol, beaches in Gualchos-Castell have all the positive ratings possible.

The ‘Q’ (quality) award was given to Playa de Cambriles, Playa Castell de Ferro and Playa El Sotillo and the green flag ISO 14001 goes to Playa La Rijana for its environmental management.

Gualchos-Castell has also obtained the Safe Tourism Certified and the Q Certificate making it one of the first five municipalities to receive both categories in the whole of Spain.
