The Mayor of Motril has admitted that the town has now registered its 8th cluster of infections with a total of seven new infections. Furthermore, these cases have been in contact with a group of people, who are now under observation.
The Mayor decided to make a statement because of the traffic on social media speculating on new cases in Motril.
She said she received the update this morning and said that she could confirm that there were no new cases in Hospital Santa Ana.
«From the Town Hall of Motril, we call upon people to be prudent about giving out data because it only provokes social alarm and an unnecessary stigma between barrios in these times when we have to be united and all row in the same direction,” she announced.
The Junta’s Covid-19 page gives the following:
Total Confirmados: 130
Confirmados Acumulados 14 días: 7
Total Defunciones (deaths): 9
This means that since our article this morning (data taken at 22.00h last night), there have been three more cases: last night it stood at Total Confirmados 127, Confirmados Acumulados 14 días: 4.
