A 42-year-old man has been arrested by the Guardia Civil in Salobreña, suspected of breaking into a cortijo within the municipality.
The break-in took place on the 22nd in the area of Salobreña known as the Camino de los Barreros/Monte Hacho. The suspect allegedly broke through the perimeter fence and stole several farm tools, a butane bottle and the control panel of a swimming-pool bottom cleaner.
The owner of the cortijo reported the theft the next day at the Salobreña Guardia Civil post and an investigation was opened.
After questioning neighbours, they received information that the suspect had been seen loitering in the area
On the 25th of June, the Guardia Civil stopped the car that the suspect was driving and searched it, finding the stolen tools and a butane bottle in the boot. Realising that he had been nabbed, the suspect told the police where the control panel was.
All the stolen items were returned to their rightful owner.
