The Marina project for Motril on Playa de Granada is progressing with the Landowners Management Board having met to approve the drawing up of the project draft.
Now that this has been done the development company and the board (junta de compensación) will work together for its final approval.
Pending is the draft itself, the viability study and the environmental-impact study. The time frame for these tasks is 34 months, which is when it will be presented before the Junta de Andalucía, which has already expressed its support for the idea.
The development company behind the Marina project is Royal Haskoningn DHV, which has 140 years’ of experience in maritime projects carried out in 130 countries.
Whereas the original project contemplated 700 berths in 2012, the revised one consists of 500 berths, amongst other changes.
Editorial comment: 34 months before the whole package is presented for approval before the Junta de Andalucía… and so we will be looking at the end of 2023 before any earth movements are carried out, at a rough guess.
