A 50-year-old man was arrested in Motril yesterday afternoon after he allegedly stabbed his neighbour over a barking dog.
The arrest took place around 17.00h in the area of town known as the Varadero, which is just behind the port. The aggressor, who has a criminal record, reportedly stabbed his 43-year-old victim three times because his dog wouldn’t stop barking, according to several witnesses.
Trouble had been brewing between them for some time and more than one heated exchange had taken place but this time it ended with three stab wounds to the abdomen.
The attack occurred around 14.00h but the aggressor fled the scene. However, he was tracked down three hours later hiding amongst nearby wild sugarcane.
Finally, the police believe that there might have been a settling of scores over drugs involved, as well.
