The Guardia Civil in Oviedo have fined two people for putting photos of road checkpoints on social media to warn other motorists.

To mention one of these cases, it was on last Sunday when the Guardia Civil had mounted a road check in Luarca on the N-640 as part of the weekend drive to stop people leaving their place of residence for their second homes.

One of the officers on the check point received a photo via a mobile phone app clearly showing the check point that he and his fellow officers were manning.

Examining the photo it became obvious that the photo had been taken from a nearby house, so they went to speak with the occupants: the parents and their two offspring. The teens had a friend round who confessed to having taken the photo and uploaded.

The culprit was identified and informed that he had infringed the Ley Orgánica 4/2015 art.36 apto 23.
