Bus Passenger Control

ALM Bus Station 02People arriving on buses from Granada and Madrid need to be controlled, considers the Mayor of Almuñécar, Trinidad Herrera.

The Town Hall has approached the Subdelegación del Gobierno in Granada so that, “As far as possible, the arrival of non-residents in the municipality should be avoided,” announced the Mayor upon reading a report from the Policía Local saying that over a dozen people from Granada had arrived at the bus station.

The Mayor said that there are local residents, that for one reason or another, have to travel up to Granada and return but what is happening is that people from Granada with holiday flats here have been arriving by bus to avoid road checks where cars are stopped.

Not only are the Policia Local and Guardia Civil stopping vehicles at the A-7 exit points for Almuñécar where they join the N-340, but the police are also checking people as they wait in line to enter supermarkets.

Amongst the vehicles intercepted and ordered to return to Granada was a taxi with a foreign passenger (an Italian), determined to spend the Lock Down in his or her Almuñécar property.
