A young man in Almuñécar has been stopped five time for breaking the quarantine measures and has subsequently been arrested.
The 25-year-old, who has been charged with grave civil disobedience, says in his defence that he can’t stand being at home.
The first time he was found outside was on the 23rd of March at 13.20h when a Guardia Civil patrolcar pulled him over as he was driving along the Camino de Velilla, several kilometres from his home and without justification.
Then on the 25th he was found driving along the Paseo de San Cristóbal. On both occasions he was charged with possessing recreation drugs in public.
He was then stopped on two consecutive days, the 28th and 29th and on the latter occasion again with drugs on him. He said that he was on his way to a supermarket… but it was a Sunday.
The fifth and last occasion was on the 31st when he was again found driving along streets within the municipality first at 09.00 and then again 13.30h. He finally confessed he couldn’t bare staying indoors, which is why he would drive around town.
This double infringement on one day earnt him immediate arrest and he is remanded in custody until he can be brought before a magistrate.
