An urbanización under construction in Albolote woke up one morning to find all its trees stolen – they were not impressed.
Thieves had entered Urbanización La Nativa (El Chaparral) during the early hours and uprooted all the saplings that had been planted in its various green areas – over three dozen ash trees aged between ten and 15 years old.
The damage and loss caused reaches some 12,000 euros; i.e. the cost of the saplings, their transport to the urbanización and the work need planting them in an area of 420,000 sq/m.
The urbanización now intends to install CCTV in the perimeter of the residential estate.
