A 52-year-old man in Salobreña has been arrested, accused of fraud for misappropriation of another person’s credit card in order to steal money from the victim.
The accused allegedly used the victim’s card between the 10th and 11th of last month to obtain 6,000 euros in both cash and purchases. The victim was known to the arrested man, who took advantage of the person’s trust and the fact that this person in question was ill.
As soon as the victim received notification from his bank that his card was being used to make several purchases and cash withdrawals, he contacted the Guardia Civil.
Officers from the Guardia Civil Investigations Team in Salobreña, using security-camera footage from the ATM’s used to make the transactions, managed to identify the accused. However, this had not been an easy task as the accused does not have a criminal record.
