The Guardia will be out in force on the nation’s road this Christmas period, not only to fine you till your eyes bleed, but also to offer assistance.

The special operation began on Friday the 20th and will conclude on the 6th of January, owing to the high number of people on the roads, visiting relatives or going on holiday somewhere, etc.

Of course, there are also hundreds of thousands of people making short journeys, to shopping centres, for example for last minute Christmas shopping.

The police road operation is divided into three stages: Christmas – 20th to the 25th; New Year – 27th to the 1st of January and Three Kings – Monday the 3rd until the 6th of January.

Besides the patrol cars and motorbikes, the Guardia Civil Helicopters will also be out in force.
