Work began during the last week of November on providing Almuñécar with a canine park; in other words a park where you can take your mutt for a walk.
This decision was taken at the behest of the Asociación de Protección de Animales de Almuñécar APAMA, explained the Councillor for the Environment, Luis Aragón.
This 420-sq/m enclosure is at the northern end of the Jardines de Alhucemas and will have an automatic gate set within its 1.4m-high perimeter fence.
The park, which cost just over 8,000 euros to set up should be open for use around the end of the second week of this month.
Finally, just because it’s a dog park, it doesn’t mean that Rover can drop ‘mines’ with impunity – bring a poop bag.
