The Board of Agriculture at the Almuñécar Town Hall carried out road surfacing work in the Pago de Rescate above La Herradura last month.
The relevant councillor, ‘many-hats’ Luis Aragón, explained that the operation covered about 180 metres of the country lane that gives access to cortijos in that area because residents had complained that it was difficult to use the track during and after heavy rainfall.
The work was carried out by the municipal workforce laying H250 concrete mix over a surface of nearly 800 sq/m costing 15,000 euros.
Councillor Aragón said that the next lane to receive attention from the Town Hall will be the Cuesta de Cordobilla, which is very deteriorated.
