Miguel Angel Caldentey Lopez from the Balearic Islands won the Salobreña International Strongman Competition held late last month.
This is the first time that this sport has been held in Spain with participants competing in the 105-kilo category.
The runner up was a local lad, Juan Figueroa, who is the standing Andalusian Kickboxing Champion.
Both the winner and runner up have qualified for the World Championships which will be held this month in Almería.
The six competitors had to drag a 20-tonne lorry and lift a car of between 1,200 and 1,500 kilos. They also had to drag a 300-kilo weight.
