It’s summer and lo, Almuñécar gets hit by power cuts, yet again, with just over a week to go before the big day on the 15th and the firework display.
The reason behind this latest blackout, says the utility company Endesa, is that they are carrying out adjustments to prevent power cuts next week.
Furthermore, Endesa says that it is working with the Almuñécar Town Hall to solve these deficiencies and that, very soon, the company will invest 30,000 euros on 300 metres of cabling under the paseo.
They also said that they are installing ‘telemandos,’ which is a system that automatically reroutes power supplies if one area fails. So far they have installed one but in the coming months will instal another six, with a budget of 70,000 euros.
Editorial comment: they have had all year… all year raking in money from domestic electricity bills, to get this sorted out long before the commencement of summer, yet here we are, as August begins…
