Everybody knows the Parque de Las Americas, which is next to the main tourist information office in Motril, but what about the Parque de las Provincias?
Well, if you have never been to this park, then it is perhaps best that you don’t go at the moment because the stream that goes through it contains stagnant water, plastic bags, a football and even a toddler’s tricycle.

It’s a mess, it’s also an air base for squadrons of mosquitoes, which breed in the stagnant water.
It’s a pity because all parks are a bonus for a growing urban areas and this part of town, in particular, is a forgotten area of the municipality on the north-western outskirts.
Let’s hope that our recently elected councillors get their collective fingers out and get the place cleaned up.
Update: the Town Hall moved fast and has completely cleaned up the stream this afternoon (Wednesday).
