Today’s Looking Back article deals with a sharp increase in crime on the Costa Tropical, coinciding with the onset of the economic crisis that was to last a full decade.

There was a flasher on the loose in La Herradura and two violent robberies in Almuñécar in June 2009. Furthermore, in May that year there was the attempted murder in La Herradura followed by the suicide of the aggressor.
