The sports area in La Caleta is being overhauled, especially the fence that surrounds it. This is the one near the old chimney stack on the N-340.

This work, which will also include renovating the washroom facilities should be concluded within two months… but don’t hold your breath.

As for the funding, the money was provided by the Provincial Council and came out of  last year’s budget.

According to the Mayor, María Eugenia Rufino, the funding received totalled 90,000 euros… a strange, rounded-up sum (100,000 euros?) until you realise that it’s the old, ‘thinking in pesetas’ again as it is a sum equivalent to 1.5-million pesetas.
