The Marina del Este is twice in the news this month, this time because of a training course that was held there.

As the villagers of Herradura couldn’t be bothered to rob a bank or something, there is not much news for the village that has not already appeared on our online site.

Anyway, back to the Marina… this basic marine-safety course is pretty handy, if not necessary, for anybody that wants to work as a crew member or any official duties related with being afloat.

The Certificado de Especialidad covers with survival if adrift at sea or in the water, as well as fire prevention and fire extinction, First Aid, personal & work safety.

The course comprised of a theory part and a soggy part bobbing around trying to inflate a life raft whilst in the water, etc.
