The Guardia Civil are trying to identify the body of a cyclist who was killed when he left the road and hit his head against a large stone.
The accident occurred on the road (GR-3417) between Albolote and Atarfe in the early hours of the 9th. The victim, aged between 40 and 50, was wearing brown trousers and a red jersey.
The police have tried to identify him through his fingerprints, as he was carrying no ID or any other document with his name or nationality. However, the database search drew a blank.
At present, they hope to identify him through his bicycle, which was hand-painted blue, and have posted a photo of it on social media just in case anybody recognises it.
