The Almuñécar Town Hall has renewed an accord after almost 25 years, which deals with the Catastro on which property tax is based.
The accord received the backing from all political parties because it would facilitate the obtention and input of information of both rural and urban properties with complete up-to-date accuracy thanks to its digital database.
The fact is that the amount of building in the urban area of the municipality has increased drastically since 1994, with most of the modifications slipping through the tax net.
As for efficiency, back in 1994, the Town Hall was only able to obtain 35% of the tax due whereas now its closer to 90%, according to the Head of the said department.
The Oficina de Catastro Ofice is on the second floor of the Town Hall building with an office staff of twelve, less those out on extended or multiple breakfast breaks…
