CCTV on Pedestrian Streets

The Town Hall has installed CCTV cameras along Calle Príncipe and Calle Canalejas in La Herradura to control the traffic there.

When we say traffic, we’re referring to illegal traffic because they are pedestrian streets that are often invaded by people on mopeds.

“We’ve found ourselves forced to instal cameras in the said old-town streets because people are not obeying the prohibition signs,” explained First Councillor, Juan José Ruiz Joya, adding, “the cameras will be controlled by the Policía Local 24 hours a day, thus the prohibition against wheeled access can be enforced and accidents avoided.”
