Almuñécar Stabbing Trial

provincial lawcourts of granadaThe Public Prosecutor in the provincial law courts has recommended 7.5 years imprisonment for the young man who carried out a stabbing in Almuñecar.

The incident too place on the 28th of August, 2016 in the night-bar area under the Paseo del Altillo.

The victim was accompanied by two male and two female friends when Ramón C.G. turned up with Ramón F.F., who is also being tried in connection with the incident. As soon as they arrived they started arguing with one of the girls.

The victim tried to calm the situation down but Ramón F.F. delivered a couple of punches to the victim, saying that he wasn’t going to hurt the girls but was going to beat him up (the victim).

At the point the victim left the area acommpanied by his two male friends, only to be followed by the two Ramones. When they did catch them up, Ramón C.G. pulled out a large knife.

In the words of the Public Prosectutor, the aggressor “stabbed the victim twice in the adomen with the intention of taking his life.” Prompt medical attention, however, saved the man’s life.

Ramón C.G. stands accused of attempted murder and will face 7.5 years imprisonment and a court order not to approach within 300 metres of the victim in the 15 years following his release.

On the other hand, Ramón F.F., is facing a fine of 1,350 euros for verbal aggression.

The court case will be heard on the 16th of May in Granada at the provincial law courts.
