A young couple with their kids had a bit of a fright when their car came off the road and was left balancing over a drop.

The accident occurred in La Herradura at the very top of Camino Real, a short distance from the Flor de Hierro monument on the Punta de la Mona road.

Apparently the driver had driven too far over whilst trying to avoid another vehicle coming in the opposite direction on this narrow road.

The family quickly exited the dangling car via the driver’s side and awaited the Almuñécar fire service to pull their car back onto the road, using its winch. In the meantime the Guardia Civil kept the traffic off the Camino Real.

As no damage had been done to the car, the family was able to continue with their journey, albeit a little ‘ruffled.’
