A Romanian man accused of attempted murder was arrested in Motril last month by a special unit that came down from Granada.
A judge in Romania had issued a European arrest warrant for the 41-year-old man over an incident in April 2011 when this individual together with other accomplices had attacked a man with baseball bats, causing the victim numerous injuries, putting his life in danger.
The specialised department in Granada, charged with hunting down fugitives with international arrest warrants against them, received a tip-off that the man was living in Motril, which proved to be accurate information.
They found him at the given address and arrested him. He is being held in custody until his extradition can be arranged.
