Hundreds of Motrileños marched through the streets on Saturday protesting over the services provided at Hospital Santa Ana.
The protest marchers set off from Plaza de la Aurora and spent the next hour or so shouting, más camas, menos despachos (More beds and fewer offices) or in other words, more resources for patient care and less on administrative costs.
The protesters want more medical staff and specialist departments, as correspond to a town of Motril’s size and population. They also were demanding better attention at the A&E (Urgencias) and a reduction to the time spent on waiting lists.
The Plataforma en Defensa del Hospital de Motril, which came into being thanks to social media, said that their protests will continue until their demands are met.
