Elisabeth Ramón from the Partido Popular in Salobreña has denounced the lack of service provided at the medical facilities in La Caleta.
Sra. Ramón says that the centre is only open twice a week and then for only 90 minutes. This limited time, she claims, means that doctors can only dedicate five minutes to each patient.
The medical staff that attend the Caleta facilities also have to provide coverage for Lobres owing to a lack of medical staff in the municipality, which, she says, is the result of “disastrous management” on the part of the Regional Health Board (SAS).
“The situation is really shameful and unsustainable,” considers the PP representative, adding, “while the PSOE seems to be busy with the building of a new medical centre in Salobreña, they have completely forgotten about the elderly residents of La Caleta, who have the same rights as those living in the centre of Salobreña.”
