The Guardia Civil have identified the owner of a horse (thanks to its microchip) that caused a road accident resulting in a death.

The accident occurred last Sunday around 20.00h within the municipality of Domingo Pérez (Toledo) when a car with five occupants from the same family ran into a horse that had wandering onto the CM-4015 road.

Unable to avoid the animal, the resulting impact killed the mother and left her husband and 9-year-old daughter seriously injured. The 6-year-old boy and the 2-year-old girl suffered lesser injuries.

The survivors were all taken to the Hospital Virgen de la Salud de Toledo. Meanwhile the owner of the horse will probably face a charge of  involuntary manslaughter.
