Motril’s Policía Local have received several new motorbikes according to the Councillor for Citizen Safety, María Ángeles Escámez.
“Their aquisition, financed through leasing allows us to eliminate bikes in the aging vehicle pool,” explained Councillor Escámez.
The councillor went on to add that the 700-cc bikes were “environment friendly,” and could operate comfortably within urban and rural environment.
The other two bikes are medium-cylinder scooters for patrols around the different barrios within the municipality.
Sub-Inspector José Luis Rojas, explained that six of the bikes would be for traffic duties within town, as well as on the access roads and connecting roads for the municipal dependencies such as Garnatilla etc. The other two, he said, were for patrols in the barrios with their narrow streets.
