A young British man has been arrested in Cañar after a plantation of 2,436 cannabis plants were discovered on land managed by him. The 23-year-old British resident also had a laboratory in his house for processing his crops.
The Guardia Civil also confiscated a vacuum-packing machine, precision scales, 22 kilos of marihuana, 365 grammes of hashish pollen, a machine for triturating foliage and a partridge in a pear tree.
The police operation began on the 17th of July when the Guardia post in Órgiva came across a plantation in an area known as the Barranco de los Prados in Cañar. They confiscated 2,243 plants and four CCTV cameras.
Back in the police station they examined the footage on the cameras and discovered who had been looking after the crop.
They arrested the man and then searched his house in Cañar and found another 193 plants in a garden belonging to the dwelling.
He is at present enjoying the fauna in the provincial prison in Albolote awaiting a tête-à-tête with a judge.
