The Guardia Civil presence in Órgiva will stay, after all; something that will make more than a few people sleep more soundly now that any doubt has been laid to rest.
The Town Hall has been working with a provincial representative of the Central Government, Inmaculada López to find a way to stop this police presence from disappearing from the capital of the Alpujarra Granadina.
In order to achieve this a new building must be built as soon as possible. Whilst that is happening the Guardia Civil personnel will be moved to a temporary location within the municipality.
The most likely location for the new post is a plot in the area known as La Parrapa. Such a project will need a budget of around four-million euros, according to the Mayor.
