A young couple had to be rescued from Río Genil where it passes through Granada in the early hours of Saturday.
The two people, an Italian male and a Spanish female, apparently fell six metres onto the concrete river course around 03.45h and shortly afterwards witness alerted the emergency services.
The city’s fire service were soon there to hook them out and take them to the main hospital (Traumatología). The 24-year-old woman was badly hurt and unconscious when rescued.
