The travelling exhibition, Creativity, organised by La Caixa (EduCaixa) will be in Almuñécar from the 23rd to the 27th of this month.
The expo is designed to awaken the creative in kids: “The object is to foster the designing and development of solutions for simple problems,” explained the organisers, adding, “children of school age will find creative workshops using every-day materials and high-&-low technology so that they can bring to life their own ideas.”
The mobile exhibition is aimed at schoolchildren from between 1st and 6th grade primary and 1st & 2nd grade secondary. The children will be accompanied by a ‘facilitator’ during free sessions of 90 minutes per class (approx. 25 pupils).
The whole thing has been inspired by the Tinkering programme at the San Francisco Exploratorium:
“In the Tinkering Studio, visitors are invited to explore a curiosity-driven exhibit, chat with a featured artist, or investigate a range of phenomena with staff artists, scientists, educators, and others by participating in a collaborative activity. A large, eclectic assortment of materials, tools, and technologies are provided for people to use as they explore and create.” Find out more about the S.F. Exploratorium here.
The workshops will be located on Playa Puerta de Mar. Those interested should enquire on Free Phone 900 101 493.
