A man in Almuñécar was arrested after it was discovered that he had illegal firearms and a sizeable quantity of ammunition in his abode.
The 70-year-old man had some of the firearms hidden away in two separate strong boxes.
This home search was triggered by a complaint from the man’s ex-partner, saying that he had threatened her with a handgun.
A patrol from the Guardia Civil was sent to the address and armed with a search warrant they soon discovered the cache of arms: four carbines with different calibers and makers. He does not have a gun licence nor bills of purchase.
Asked if he had any more firearms, he produced two pistols and a revolver; again without any official documentation. Asked where he had got all of the firearms, he said that he had found them.
The weapons with their corresponding calibers were: One .38 revolver, two pistols (6.35 & 9mm), four .22 carbines, one .177 air rifle, plus a 9mm carbine. There was also a bayonet and a large quantity of bullets of varying calibers
He was arrested and charged with the illegal possession of firearms.
